Executive Summary

 

The high growth nature of Castle Rock results in numerous and diverse questions with individuals seeking information about existing conditions and future plans. All community development activity information is located on the Town website under the Development Activity link, and In Your Backyard interactive map.

 

1.                     Quasi-Judicial Applications Requiring Public Hearings:

 

No new applications were submitted within the last two weeks.

 

2.                     General Inquiries in the Town or within the County:

 

PPA at the northwest corner of Ridge Road and Plum Creek Parkway

 

Castle Rock Land Ventures, LLC is seeking feedback on annexing 32.26 acres into the Town to construct a school, a childcare center, townhomes, and an assisted living facility. If the project moves forward, it will require public hearings and timing of the project is unknown. If annexed, the project will be located in Councilmember Teal’s District.

 

PPA at 1101 Topeka Way

 

Schmidt Construction is seeking feedback on a 2,160 square foot warehouse addition. This is not a formal land use application so timing of the project is unknown. The property is located in Councilmember Bower’s District.

 

PPA at 376 Third Street

 

Soudermiller & Associates is seeking feedback on adding 3 parking spaces behind the existing structure next to the alley. This is not a formal land use application so timing of the improvement is unknown. The property is located in Councilmember Bower’s District.

                     Promenade:

o                     Whole Foods site grading and building construction, located southeast of Promenade Parkway and Castle Rock Parkway.

o                     Chick-fil-A site construction, located in the north/central part of the site.

o                     Cuba sandwich shop, located on east side of Promenade Parkway near TJ Maxx parking lot.

o                     La Loma Restaurant located southwest of Promenade Parkway and Castle Rock Parkway.

o                     Premier Members Credit Union site construction, located southwest of Promenade Parkway and Castle Rock Parkway.

o                     Starbucks and unnamed commercial unit site construction, located in the north/central part of the site.

 

                     Meadows:

o                     Collaboration Campus site construction, located north of the hospital and south of the high school. 

o                     North Meadows Parkway roundabout construction documents for future intersection located north of Castle View High School between the two bridges, providing access to the future commercial-office-industrial parcels on each side of North Meadows Pkwy.

o                     Town Center:

§                     Canvas Credit Union (formerly Public Service Credit Union) site development plan and site construction document submittal, located at Meadows Boulevard and Future Street.

§                     Mixed-use 17,000 sq. ft. building, site construction, located on Ambrosia St.

§                     Park area site plan, located between Viridian and Saffron Streets.

o                     Water line construction plan in area of commercial/office/industrial parcels adjacent to North Meadows Parkway between State Highway 85 and East Plum Creek.

 

                     Downtown:

o                     Riverwalk North and South buildings under construction on Wilcox Street.

o                     Festival Park Commons site plan under review, northeast of Wilcox Street and South Street intersection.

o                     Rock Park, re-platting under review, located north of downtown.

 

                     Other Commercial Projects throughout Town:

o                     Brookside Skilled Nursing, site plan under review for new 29,000 square foot facility on South Perry Street, southwest of Safeway.

o                     Calvary Chapel Church, construction documents for 23,000 square foot building, located at 5th Street and Woodlands.

o                     Castle Rock Automotive, site plan for automotive service building and flex use building on the northeast corner of South Perry Street and I-25 frontage road.

o                     Castle Rock Industrial Park site and building construction for office, warehouse and flex space, located at the northwest intersection of State Highway 85 and Liggett Road.

o                     Founders Marketplace, Canvas Credit Union site construction and Liberty Express Carwash site plans, northeast of Fifth Street and Founders Parkway.

o                     Garage Condos construction and soil erosion plan, located on Liggett Road.

o                     Heckendorf Ranch, 10,000 sq. ft. retail site plan under review, located southwest of Crystal Valley Parkway and Plum Creek Boulevard, directly south of Fire Station No. 152.

o                     Infinity Laboratories parking lot expansion construction document review, located at 1585 S. Perry.

o                     Starbucks, site and building construction located on southeast corner of Wolfensberger Road and Kinner Street.

o                     The Famous Steak House site development plan and interior building renovation, located in former Jarre Creek Brewery building south of Chili’s.

o                     Town of Castle Rock Central Service Facility site and building construction located on the north end of Caprice Street.

o                     Town of Castle Rock Public Works Service Center expansion construction documents under review, located at 4175 S. Castleton Court.

o                     Murdoch’s Home and Ranch Supply site development plan, located in former King Soopers on Founders Parkway.

o                     Miller’s Landing landfill remediation for future commercial development site, located on Plum Creek Parkway east of PS Miller Park.

o                     U-Haul self-storage, construction documents under review, located on I-25 East Frontage Road north of South Perry Street and Manatt Court.

 

                     Site Development Activity/Residential:

o                     Crystal Valley Ranch construction documents for single-family subdivision, located in southern interior portion of Loop Road.

o                     Epoque construction documents for 155 multi-family unit project at the northwest corner of Crystal Valley Parkway and Plum Creek Boulevard.

o                     Founders Village sign monument, landscape, fence, and trail improvement plans adjacent to Mikelson Blvd. between Mitchell Street and Sovereign.

o                     Founders Village attached single-family home neighborhood, construction documents under review and site grading underway, located northeast of Mikelson Blvd. and Mitchell Street, southeasterly of Mesa Middle School.

o                     Lanterns construction documents under review for main collector looped roadway Montaine Boulevard and two neighborhoods, located south of Crystal Valley Parkway and east of Plum Creek Boulevard (south of King’s Ridge subdivision).

o                     Lanterns site plan, construction plans, and plats for residential neighborhoods off of the planned looped roadway Montaine.

o                     Liberty Village construction documents for single-family lots located on the north side of Castle Oaks Drive.

o                     Liberty Village Bridge crossing on Castle Oaks Drive and McMurdo Gulch channel improvements.

o                     Meadows construction for 209 single-family lot subdivision located just north of Red Hawk subdivision, west of Prairie Hawk Drive. This work includes reconstruction of a portion of Red Hawk Drive, which is completed except for detached sidewalk on east side, immediately north of golf course area.

o                     Meadows Neighborhood Park construction documents located west of Fiddle Rd.

o                     Meadows, Town Stormwater Project, construction of underdrains adjacent to Starry Night Loop and Hourglass Ave.

o                     Meadows Springs multi-family apartment complex site plan, located at corner of Bilberry and Viridian.

o                     Meadows Town Center construction documents for single-family subdivision, located north of Meadows Blvd. between Low Meadow and Trail Blazer.
