Executive Summary
South Metro Water Supply Authority and its 13 members, including Castle Rock Water are hosting a regional water festival to bring awareness to area residents about the water industry in a fun and interactive manner. The first water festival is scheduled for June 18, 2 to 6 p.m. at PS Miller Park & Amphitheater in Castle Rock. The subsequent annual festivals will be held in various member city locations. The event is targeting the whole family, not just children and will include hands-on and interactive booths and presentations geared for a large range of audiences. Castle Rock Water is hosting a beer and music garden following the event in an attempt to attract more families. Additionally, one hundred cans of the reuse beer created by CDM Smith will be handed out.
Outreach
In addition to the traditional outreach avenues of social media, email newsletter, Your Town Talk and news releases, a bill insert will be used, along with some paid print advertising. SMWSA is managing additional outreach campaigns and each member is responsible for outreach to their customers.

Water is never a dry topic and we’d like to prove it too with a splashing good time
Our South Metro water organizations are hosting a festival to showcase all things water. Check out the internal workings of a toilet-and see how to fix that flapper. Find out where your water comes from-and why it’s important. How do we not get washed away in our watershed? Get to ask experts about ColoradoScaping your yard. Did you know you could use your water meter to see if you have a leak? There will be science experiments, songs and other interactive events to "wet" your appetite. There will be food vendors too. Geared toward the kids, but fun for everyone.
Plus, the Come for the Water, Stay for the Beer After-Party, 6 to 8 p.m. hosted by Castle Rock Water. See if you can win a can of Dos Veces Mexican Lager, specially brewed with Castle Rock’s amazing reuse water!

Budget
The festival itself will have minimal cost as SMWSA is handling the primary logistics and costs. However, Castle Rock Water will provide additional marketing avenues and will host the after-party at an estimated cost of $10,000. This will come from the Administrative Marketing account.
